Skype is a young VOIP company which is revolutionising the way telephony is used across the world. JMC Consulting became involved with Skype in the company’s infancy when the London Headquarters had just been established and before the company was acquired by Ebay. Very much in start-up mode, the company required hugely talented and ambitious people to grow and develop the company internationally and the time frame was “urgent”.

Working closely with in-house recruiters and line managers, JMC Consulting successfully placed candidates in a diverse number of roles including:

  • Product Managers
  • Project Managers
  • Country Manager, Spain

It was essential for candidates to have not only state of the art technical knowledge but also to have had exposure to the international market place. It was also imperative to identify professionals who had the ability to thrive in a fast paced, ever changing environment. Using international web based advertising and pro-active search methods JMC Consulting was able to recruit high calibre candidates within tight deadlines.

JMC Consulting continues to work with Skype on an ongoing basis to provide high calibre across all disciplines.

 

BTC, Bulgaria

BTC is the incumbent telecommunications operator in Bulgaria. In 2004 Advent International, an American Private Equity company, acquired a majority shareholding in BTC and subsequently needed to recruit a number of senior telecommunications professionals to oversee the transformation of the company which at the time employed 23,000 staff.
JMC Consulting was approached to recruit key members of the senior management team and was successful in filling the following roles:

  • CFO
  • CTO
  • Head of Customer Service
  • Director of Programme Management
  • Head of Billing
  • Several Senior Project Managers

The search for these positions combined following through on recommendations and referrals, data base file searches, web based advertising and pro-active headhunting. The roles were challenging to fill due to the scale of the projects involved and needed candidates who were experts in their field as well as experienced in working in emerging markets. JMC Consulting maintained regular contact with the CEO and Deputy CEO to ensure that candidates matched requirements and following an international search, the campaign was concluded very successfully.

Gilbarco Veeder-Root is a leading oil services company with wide international presence covering 77 countries. JMC Consulting has worked with GVR consistently over the past few years to recruit senior level personnel across the EMEA region. These have included:

The variety of locations involved has required a sensitive understanding of cultural differences and particular business needs. Each search has been approached on an individual basis and close co-operation with senior managers within GVR has been essential. JMC Consulting has developed an in-depth understanding of GVR’s requirements and is therefore able to work quickly and effectively to fill vacancies – all methods of recruitment have been used across the years to identify the most suitable candidates.

 

State Owned Eastern European Postal & Telecommunications Service
JMC Consulting was initially approached by a representative from this State owned Eastern European Postal & Telecommunications Service to recruit a CEO to manage the enterprise with Fixed, Mobile, ISP and Postal services. Following an international search, a CEO was successfully placed and a significant change management programme introduced. JMC Consulting was then involved in recruiting for the following positions:

  • Group CFO
  • CFO, Mobile
  • Chief Commercial Officer
  • Head of Training and Development
  • Head of IT
  • Head of Internal Audit

As a result of the unique location, the roles were challenging to fill and it was important to present an accurate picture of living conditions and potential problems to candidates. Despite this, all positions were filled within the required time frame due to a combination of pro-active searching, web based advertising and approaching existing contacts.

JMC Consulting has continued to supply staff since the initial major recruitment drive, constantly building on the initial work done.
